Application
High definition LCD/PDP screens have raised the bar on the public’s expectation of a quality viewing experience. In the manufacturing of plasma display panels (PDP), ETHOCEL™ ethylcellulose polymers serve as solvent soluble binders and viscosity modifiers for forming the electrodes, the dielectric layers and barrier rib, and the phosphor layer.
The ETHOCEL™ polymers burn out cleanly and leave no residue as the active ingredients are sintered to form each layer. In liquid crystal displays (LCD), ETHOCEL™ based optical films help to contribute to the viewing experience with high out-of-plane retardation and tunable optics. Ethyl cellulose based films also exhibit properties that help reduce color shift and provide high transparency and low haze.
